Where are sessions held?

Sessions are held either in person or by videoconference (Zoom).

My office is located at 2289 Avenue Bourgogne in Chambly. It is adjacent to a private residence and next to Parcs des Vétérans. The office entrance is at the REAR of the building and opens onto the driveway. There is also always street parking available. Upon arrival, please enter and take a seat in the waiting room.

If our session is via Zoom, you will receive the link a few days before the appointment.

Please note that all sessions are by appointment only.

How much does a therapy session cost?

The rate is $115 (taxes included). Sessions last 60 minutes.

I accept payment by Interac, by cheque or in cash.

What payment methods do you accept?

In the event that the client is unable to attend a session, he/she is asked to notify the therapist at least 24 hours prior to the start of the session. Otherwise, a cancellation fee of $50 may be charged. Should the therapist be able to reschedule the session within the same week, there will be no charge to the client.

What is your cancellation policy?

Are you available in the evening? Are you taking on new clients?

Yes, I am accepting new clients and I am available both during the day and in the evening. I work Monday through Wednesday. If your request is urgent, you may contact 811 or your local crisis centre. Both services are free and available 24/7.

Do you issue receipts?

I issue naturopathy receipts via the RITMA Association for insurance purposes. These receipts are accepted by most insurance companies with the exception of Industrial Alliance and federal government employees covered by the PSHCP.

Is your work supervised by a professional organization?

As a member of the Interveners and Therapists Group in Alternative and  Complementary Medicine (RITMA), my work is governed by a code of ethics and conduct that ensures my clients are protected. I also have to submit annual reports on my continuing education activities.

What’s the difference between a therapist and a psychologist or psychotherapist?

In Quebec, Bill 28 stipulates that only doctors, psychologists and members of certain professional orders may practice psychotherapy. These professionals can provide mental health care as well as counselling. They are trained to diagnose and treat ADHD, personality disorders and neurotic disorders, among others.

Therapists with a diploma from the Centre de relation d’aide de Montréal practice non-directive therapy. We are specialists in relationships, both with oneself and others.

If your issue falls outside my field of expertise, I can refer you to another qualified professional.

Is a videoconference session as effective as meeting in person?

Yes, because non-directive therapy also works at a distance. The therapy’s progress depends mainly on the client’s level of engagement.
